A clique of stereotypical bad guys discovers the meaning of good deeds in a fun-filled, smart CGI adventure. The Bad Guys will make you laugh till you cry; based on Aaron Blabey’s bestselling children books. Smooth animation, catchy tunes and an involving storyline are what instruct kids not to judge a book by its cover. And that meaningful change is possible with hard work. Nor will your perception of Guinea pigs remain the same again ever. Don’t underrate a rodent that wants something.

Crème de la crème of thievery is loved by Bad Guys. Ms Tarantula (Awkwafina) is known for her prowess with electronics as she is the team’s IT expert. Mr Shark (Craig Robinson), on the other hand, can infiltrate any place he pleases because he wears disguises so perfectly that one cannot differentiate him from the rest. While he may be small, Mr Piranha (Anthony Ramos) is hot-tempered and flatulent with muscles as big as an elephant’s ones. Cranky old Mr Snake (Marc Maron) knows how to crack any safe just like gum balls from a gumball machine fall down when their time comes. Lastly though not least, gang leader Mr Wolf (Sam Rockwell) is an elegant thief who has aspirations about robbing the Ultimate smash and grab prize- The Golden Dolphin trophy presented annually to the city’s top citizen by Governor Diane Foxington(Zazie Beetz).

And this year Professor Marmalade (Richard Ayoade), a gentle guinea pig who always puts others before himself, received it all with grace and humility when he became Golden Dolphin laureate.Mayorship of a peculiar meteorite which bizarrely crashed into spewing giant hole was succeeded after rallying around another victimized crater city.Heist plan created by The Bad Guys hits snag they never anticipated.Such as Misty Luggins (Alex Borstein), the stressed out police chief at long last has her hands on these klepto-critters.Besides, Mr Wolf surprises everyone by appealing to the good nature of the town in another gambit. It is highly impossible to change a leopard’s spots.

The Bad Guys turns around traditional antagonists on their heads in the latest animated feature. This time round there are actually reasons why this is so. Wolves are usually seen as a villain from common fairy stories. This dangerous image has been attached with spiders, sharks and snakes for ages. Such animals have always been feared, mistrusted and subdued. Because they know The Bad Guys are just playing their part as expected. Why attempt to be unique when perception relies only upon how you appear? The movie makes an important message about prejudice through which it acknowledges that those who fall into an unfair stereotype will also need to work harder to demonstrate they have defied it.

Built on classic Looney Tunes cartoons’ zaniness, The Bad Guys pays homage to its style. There is not too much detail in the animation.Otherwise Misty Luggins reminded me of Yosemite Sam from Looney Tunes or Wile E Coyote from Road Runner trying to catch their victims (always unsuccessfully). Hence making the characters look hand-drawn featured face features and muted color palettes. This results into bubble-like feel of a film charged with energy. The filmmakers did not go for ultra-realistic CGI but opted for something simpler that can still carry through the plot.

There are some surprises in this film that make it more entertaining.Twist after twist comes at you like a speeding bus. Some gags start right away and only become funny later. In addition, there is a sharp sound track and score.Lastly, The Bad Guys would be enjoyed by audiences spanning all age brackets.Perhaps guinea pigs have their issues as well.
