In April 25, 2014, the City of Flint, Michigan moved its water supply from Lake Huron to the Flint River. The local government had been forced to do so by former governor Rick Snyder for a savings of $5 million. It was an epic mistake that led to the worst public health crisis in America’s history. In Flint, thousands are poisoned by lead on a wide scale from day one. Anthony Baxter, a known film producer over five years, interviews inhabitants, scientists, friends from outside and politicians involved in the move. In 2021 he does another interview about what is happening now in the city. Alec Baldwin tells it.

Flint has a maddening journey for you. People had to mobilize against government incompetence and criminality due to his particular decision-making failures . They will never be the same after that period of time. There were deaths caused by lead poisoning; birth defects; miscarriages; lower intellectual abilities among children; hair loss and skin disorders occurred among other problems such as identifying truth as only beginning point; no water in depressed economy area becoming another epic tragedy; unexpected twists of events when initial hero turned out to be an unlikely adversary.

Backslapping officials press a button at the Flint water plant in footage shot by Baxter. Governor Snyder speaks enthusiastically about cost-cutting measures he has introduced with pride on his face. Tammy Loren notices that her kids have rashes all over their bodies and seem more tired six months later. She’s losing chunks of hair at an alarming rate while clumps fall out every day when she brushes it or tries washing herself under running taps attached with pipes handling dirty-brownish fluid coming out through them smelling like sewage waste as if hell broke loose right before our eyes since volume still increasing further every second which might make everyone think twice regarding source such information provided because nobody else knew anything either although where else could we turn except toward? Flint River has been heavily polluted for a century now. The remaining General Motors plant issues a statement that the water is corroding their parts. To test it independently, Mays organizes local church leaders. No one believes government findings that the water is safe. People are getting sick.

Melissa Mays calls Professor Marc Edwards who works at Virginia Tech. His students have tested the Flint River water and found high lead levels in it. They sent out over three hundred home testing kits. Now, we can see how big this tragedy indeed was instead of just talk about its size (Cause and effect) which also showed what caused some portion thereof too because even though I might not have personally experienced having witnessed any other kind before such point cannot be neglected especially when considering what will come next since every single aspect related thereto already indicated all throughout those lines; and Dr Hanna-Attisha tests children with signs of lead poisoning in her district but she finds so many positive cases among them that she starts crying from despair while saying herself “I wish somebody would finally help me!” About two years after switching to the new source, Governor Snyder had to declare an emergency state in order to tackle the crisis effectively. However, Flint returns water collecting back to Lake Huron but it is already too late.

The second part of Flint focuses on reactions to the situation as collective memory gradually dissipates within society’s consciousness away from individual minds following their respective experiences during those terrible times around its climax point when everything still seemed hazy or unknown due either ignorance kept hidden behind closed doors governments covering up facts remaining obscure just mere rumors spreading around us leaving our own real lives hanging precariously by thread which had never mattered most until then making sure nobody could ever forget what happened next moment when entire world suddenly changed forever because nothing else mattered except saving someone else’s life simply meant acting accordingly like everyone else involved regardless whether they agreed with these terms before understanding why exactly such act were necessary even though nobody asked them beforehand exactly how many children he / she still wanted.

During the crisis, Flint’s second act is played out. Scared people could only rely on bottled water. Governor Snyder allows just one box of water for each family per day (Mubarak). This was a very difficult rationing process as illustrated by Baxter. The elderly had no means to acquire water at all. Most homes’ pipes couldn’t be fitted with government-issued filters either. A family with multiple kids cannot survive on rationed water in a case (Reason and Result) just like along media firestorm where volunteers from around the nation quickly traveled together due to its impact being felt everywhere across America including Michigan itself; therefore class-action lawsuits filed against governor and his team who have been condemned by residents while demanding legal prosecutions.

Scott Smith’s coming to Water Defense, a non-profit, triggers volatility. The group set up by actor Mark Ruffalo questions the government’s claims that the water has been fixed. Mr. Baxter takes Scott Smith into homes where they conduct air and sponge tests on the water. He calls him a charlatan as well as someone masquerading as a scientist. He then went to work for Governor Snyder in Flint, which is shocking and distressing for residents there. The man many saw as an indispensable champion was now considered to be a traitor. Mr. Baxter continues interviewing Marc Edwards over the years about this case and other related issues over time while his support of Snyder’s denial that lead pipes needed changing was incendiary.

Final act of Flint disheartens.Such debate between Marc Edwards and Scott Smith leads to more mistrust. Its outcome means another war among people who were allies initially. The suffering folks are hit again with another revealing fact from Snyder’s government. What remains of faith evaporates totally.Flint’s residents keep on searching for answers twisting in the wind. One thing they know is correct.Stay away from it; you pay the highest bills for utilities in America still.

Baxter does a great job capturing Flint’s misery during its water crisis (You’ve Been Trumped & A Dangerous Game). The town is a convergence point of American problems.Poor people who cannot leave literally black out.The most sobering interview is with a woman whose house is valued at six thousand dollars only.Who would ever buy property in such polluted waters?Baxter returns to Flint to find that crushing poverty is no longer making headlines as everyone continues drinking bottled water.Nobody has gone to jail despite some criminal charges being filed. Long-term lead exposure studies have now focused on children.A city that once personified the American dream has turned sadly desperate
