Pursuit is a bloodbath, perverted pulp actioner with a crazy death toll. The story about kidnapped wife in New York City that develops into a drug cartel war in rural Arkansas. The plot of the film was extremely twisted but the race will be maintained by intense action scenes. Throughout, the unsparing violence veers wildly from absurd to awesome, all within its sleek runtime. There are so many flaws I could point out in this movie but somehow I enjoyed watching it.

Portrayed by Emile Hirsch who has got a tattoo of a scorpion on his face Rick Calloway is a criminal genius. Mysteriously his estranged wife (Shelby Yardley) was taken away from him. She is seen being tortured and gagged via videos sent to Rick’s computer. He assumes that this particular drug dealer is involved and goes after him with all he has got using NYPD undercover narcotics sting operation as cover ground to do so as well as putting himself squarely on Mike Breslin’ radar (Jake Manley), a cop whose wife (Alexandria DeBerry) was killed as revenge.

Simultaneously John Calloway (John Cusack), Rick’s father, lives with his grandson (Valor Hirsch) in Arkansas state. We understand that John is actually an influential drug kingpin. They have one common empire shared with another dangerous criminal Frank Diego (Andrew Stevens). In order to hurt Rick, he hacks into John junior’s son coming out as gay among other ways of getting back at him for hacking people’s accounts or “outing” Brianna as one of his victims apart from others who also feel betrayed by him such as J.J., who had taken him under her wings while Olivia betrayed Arya Stark before infiltrating their stronghold; “leaked” Arya’s photos when pretending somebody else, thus discrediting young woman exposed herself; etc… Frank Diego has finally had enough of Rick Calloway who is a loose cannon. John swears to his partner that he can control his son. In Rick’s opinion, someone in his father’s cartel knows where she is and the only way to smoke him out would be to lure Mike Breslin into Arkansas.

The gunplay in Pursuit is stylish. The director Brian Skiba, who makes numerous B-movies, uses slow motion to emphasize the force of bullet impacts. As organs are being shredded the action stops for a moment before returning at full speed again. There are also many fist fights as well as knife battles in the movie. Some of them made me laugh loud because blood wasn’t looking real at all. However, at other times it quickly escalates to horror; eyeballs and forks make for a nasty combination.

This movie is like watching a Mexican soap opera with so much betrayal going on among its casts members and backstabbing as well as betrayals that it could rival one too! John Cusack and Emile Hirsch take family problems beyond any limit imaginable. They both play deadly games where money matters most. The film’s best tenet keeps you guessing where their allegiances lie. If only by burning every bridge around him, Rick Calaway can find his wife right now. Will John sacrifice his son? Or does blood loyalty supplant millions in drug revenue? This answer admits no ambiguity—it’s just plain yes or no.

This will satisfy the cravings of action addicts for sure. No character is sacred in Pursuit. The viewer never knows who will be killed off next or when some horrific torture scene will shock them. The narrative had one particular scene which made me literally jump out of my seat. The unpredictability of this film was refreshing.Irresponsible, sensationalist drivel of an argument doesn’t hold up; but it won’t lose your attention either.

The production companies behind Pursuit are Andrew Stevens Entertainment, Cartouche, Grindstone Entertainment Group, and Milestone Studios.
