Prepare to get swept off your feet by the musical fantasy romance, Marry Me. Jennifer Lopez stars in it as a humiliated and broken-hearted singer, who is forced to tie the knot with a random fan on stage. She’s joined by Owen Wilson as the unsuspecting groom who is refreshingly down-to-earth; their scenes together are some of the funniest in the movie. Though primarily an opportunity to display just how talented she is, but it also lets her overshadowing of Wilson seem smartly handled. It shows us that ordinary guys can be matched up with unattainably sexy celebs sometimes.
Diva Kat Valdez (Jennifer Lopez) and hunky Latino singer Bastian (Maluma) are social media’s most celebrity couple. Their hit song “Marry Me” has stormed the charts as the year’s biggest hit. After singing their hit in New York City, Kat and Bastian decide to have a live wedding on stage. Meanwhile, Charlie Gilbert (Owen Wilson), a divorced middle school math teacher, wants a closer relationship with his twelve-year-old daughter Lou (Chloe Coleman). For an audience that was rowdy and cheering wildly – Kat brought out some incredible moves on stage tonight! She now wears her beautiful white Marry Me bridal gown next to Bastian for that big moment though. Even though everyone was looking at their cellphones around him, there was such silence that followed him into the room where he had planned on proposing via hashtags like #MarryMe? Before stepping back out onto stage after being informed by Colin about something alarming; Page Six posted footage showing one of her staff members cheating alongside Bastian. While sullenly gazing over a sea of supporters… just when Parker hands Charles his Marry Me poster. And then she sees him holding the sign, and unbelievably asks him if he wants to marry her. In response, Charles was taken aback by the question and kissed Parker passionately. The internet was thrown into chaos as it tried to make sense of this impossible twist.
Marry Me is a clever deviation from a graphic novel written by Bobby Crosby. For a few weeks Kat and Charlie decide to remain married. He’s just a nice guy who wants to help her deal with Bastian’s public shaming. Charlie does not have a smart phone, do social media or care about being famous at all. So his life is suddenly filled with countless flattery seekers, paparazzi that never stop following him around anywhere he goes and funny endorsements for useless items by his wife’s team… It should also be noted that Charlie becomes part of Kat’s world too. His students are touched by his warm-heartedness and genuine love for them which makes her fall in love with him even more deeply (Lopez). Jennifer Lopez (Kat) and Owen Wilson (Charlie) both fit their roles perfectly here; they’re absolutely ideal as two people who’ve had no say in meeting each other but found one another anyway.
Marry Me has some great songs in English and Spanish with lots of dance numbers too! Fans of Jennifer Lopez will definitely get their money’s worth here.The Colombian singer Maluma has several bilingual tracks where he sings alongside me as well – I am not particularly fond of this kind of movie genre though my attention was not drawn elsewhere throughout(“Marry Me,” 2022). Since the soundtrack is very much interwoven into both story lines/characters overall experience, it works perfectly fine within context of the film even though subjectively speaking maybe sometimes I nodded my head while listening on occasion
In this case, director Kat Coiro is best known for her television shows. She treats Jennifer Lopez like a star but at the same time she portrays her as a woman who just wants to be loved. It is awesome to experience the flash, glitter and the glamorous lifestyles they lead. However, in its quieter times with Lopez and Wilson together will melt even the iciest and most cynical hearts this Valentine’s Day.
