Buzz Lightyear’s history is given an emotional treatment and a rousing one in Pixar’s next great adventure. Toy Story’s beloved space ranger knows what it means to have friends around. His insistence on setting things right over what he believes was a simple error means his enemies are formidable. Buzz confronts teleporting machines, the complicated nature of time itself, and their mysterious boss Zurg. He finds an unlikely bunch of buddies as well as an impressive robotic cat friend along the way. Sox is guaranteed to get all viewers laughing out loud.

A monster ship flies from earth to a distant planet for colonization in the future. The crew and passengers slumber through the long trip. The lead pilot, Chris Evans, wakes up when his ship computer comes on unexpectedly. However outside the set course there happens to be another habitable planet which sensors detected for them.Buzz decides to take this chance before it passes.

Buzz alerts Alisha Hawthorne (Uzo Aduba) who also happens to be his General. Her reaction to her best friend talking aloud while they explore some strange land make no sense at all.The advance team experiences alien bug attacks coupled with grabbing vines that quickly turn towards their docked vessel. The blame falls on him when they get stuck somewhere unsafe.Being faster than light fuel, crystalline type runs out of space craft. So he volunteers himself to be a test pilot in an experimental fighter jet powered by new energy sources linked directly with Alisha. He swears never to let this happen again when he is leaving.

Interstellar can be said to have been better animated into Lightyear. Buzz however hard he tries cannot beat physics or even relativity. Additionally, every effort at exceeding light speed only adds more time passing on the planet. Therefore he comes back home after decades under completely different conditions. The drive behind him becomes stronger leading further away from realizing such unachievable goal.Truly many relationships were missed. If you have missed it all, these scenes are poignant.Tears will come in torrents when Buzz refuses to say he lost.

Buzz’s pigheaded personality slows him down. He has much self-confidence. Alisha is whom he trusts with his life and nobody else.Because of this stubborn dispositions, the story gets worse.A robot siege on the colony cannot be solved by a one-man act only. There is only so much heroism that Buzz can do.He finds them from a bunch of misfits who worship him but whose contributions he takes lightly at best.Asking for help is not an indication of weakness. The answer always lies in listening and working together unlike arrogance.

After his initial failed attempt, Buzz receives a support droid. However Sox (Peter Sohn) never responds to cat therapy until there are other uses for him revealed. This intelligent pet does more than purring or just cuddling.Sox also acts as furry Swiss Army Knife thereby stealing the show completely with big laughs.

A straightforward manner shows alternative lifestyles in Lightyear. Alisha is a lesbian. She marries and raises kids.Buzz is happy for his friend when she finally finds a nice girl.It doesn’t celebrate her sexuality but just states what her sexual preference was.Just another statement about this character and no controversial meaning should be attached to it.

There is nothing special about the animation. The film appears nice, but I thought that it would be amazing. Pixar concentrated very well on a good script and interesting characters. I can let them pass with normal visuals. Lightyear is an immensely fun movie. It’s heartwarming and hilarious with an element of genuine emotions. Your hearts will fly up towards infinity and beyond.
